Global Entrepreneurship Leaders to Gather at Florida State University for GCEC 2026
The global entrepreneurship community is heading to Tallahassee this fall as Florida State University prepares to host the 2026 Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers (GCEC) Conference, one of the most influential events in entrepreneurship education and innovation.
Taking place October 15–17, 2026, the conference will bring together more than 500 entrepreneurship educators, startup ecosystem builders, researchers, university leaders, and innovation professionals from around the world. Hosted by the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship at Florida State University, the event marks the 30th anniversary of GCEC and arrives during FSU’s historic 175th anniversary celebration.
Why GCEC Matters
For three decades, GCEC has served as the premier international organization supporting university-based entrepreneurship centers and programs. The annual conference has become a catalyst for collaboration, where attendees exchange ideas, share proven practices, build strategic partnerships, and explore emerging trends shaping the future of entrepreneurship education.
This year’s theme, “Momentum,” captures the spirit of entrepreneurship itself—the ability to transform ideas into action, overcome challenges, and create meaningful economic and social impact. The conference will feature keynote presentations, breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and collaborative discussions designed to inspire innovation across higher education and entrepreneurial ecosystems worldwide.
A Spotlight on Florida State University
Hosting GCEC 2026 offers Florida State University an opportunity to showcase its leadership in entrepreneurship and innovation. Home to the nation’s first standalone college of entrepreneurship, FSU has established itself as a driving force in entrepreneurial education, startup support, research commercialization, and economic development.
Attendees will experience firsthand the dynamic entrepreneurial ecosystem developing across North Florida, including university initiatives, startup support organizations, investors, business leaders, and community partners working together to foster innovation and opportunity.
Networking, Learning, and Global Impact
Beyond educational programming, GCEC 2026 will provide a unique platform for meaningful connections among entrepreneurship leaders from diverse regions and institutions. Participants will gain valuable insights into how universities are evolving entrepreneurship education, supporting founders, and strengthening ties with innovation ecosystems around the globe.
The conference is also expected to deliver significant economic and community benefits to Tallahassee, drawing visitors from around the world and highlighting the region’s growing entrepreneurial momentum.
